Quotes from Anxiety: Your Friend in Disguise
Dedicate your time to waking up, not to self-improvement. 489
The story of good-versus-evil is broken and can't be fixed. The Truth is whole and doesn't need fixing. 489
The Infinite Good is the most important single piece of information in the history of the world. And the second subsequent
and inevitable fact is that without an understanding of the spiritual meaning of the Infinite Good, anxiety cannot be erased.
486

school for spiritual growth, and that spiritual growth is the purpose of our life here on the planet. 476
There is no way to be totally responsible for self without spiritual awareness. 475
Anxiety is the signal that you have tried to transfer the responsibility for your condition onto some other cause. 475
If you do not see that you are at cause for your condition, then you will remain stuck in the world of perpetrators, rescuers
and victims. 475
Anxiety is our friend, our constant reminder of our ignored spiritual nature. Anxiety cannot be erased without a full
spiritual awakening. 475
Victimization is the fundamental lie in the Victim's Bible 474
All of the ploys in the world to be a victim fail. All of our attempts to be blaming, excuse-making whiners have failed.
In God's world there are no victims. 474
If we do not know that the power and peace of God is at the core of our being, then we will be restless, anxious, and
manipulative. 473
We are ignorant, forgetful geniuses. 473

Suppose I sent you a million dollar message in Arabic and you couldn't read it and so you trashed it. That is the way
our dreams are. 472
The greatest lost treasure of all times is hidden in you 472
But the greatest oxymoron is the knowledge of good versus evil 470
In truth, suffering is unnecessary and trivial. In our story of human victimization we have trivialized our Self and
God. The Truth cannot really be trivialized 469
How to awaken the resurrection process? 469
Can you see the daily crucifixion going on in the clash between your ego and your Self? Just notice all of the stress,
anxiety, violence and despair in your mind. That is the ego. Just notice your desire for something more, something better.
That is the Self. Jesus was the hated and envied goody two shoes which we saw in the crucifixion; Christ was the phoenix
that arose out of the ashes of the crucifixion, which we call the resurrection. 469
Suffering is an emphasis upon all that the world has done to injure me. 468
We cannot tolerate meaningless suffering. 467
No one who can escape the responsibility to wrestle with the meaning of suffering 466
Our experience of the Infinite Good is only restricted by our victim story of good-versus-evil 463
Actually the most powerful thing in the world is the human imagination, which we either use consciously or unconsciously,
to our benefit or detriment. 456
Therapy is the art of alchemical change. 456
Mid-life crisis means that it has taken about 40 years to find out what doesn;t work and for the whole system to crash
and burn, which is both the worst and the best thing that could happen to a human being. Worst, because the ego has to come
apart, and best, because only as our false ego system deteriorates can the true Self become real to us 455
Dreams speak to us in a helpful but strange symbolic language from the superconscious level of ourselves. 454
Mis-diagnosis is the chief problem in psychotherapy and therefore the resulting self-treatment of symptoms is not very
effective. 453
Egoland is the stage where all of the opposites play out their melodramas in great contrast and struggle. Some of the
suburbs of Egoland are Stressville, Opinionburg, Judgeandjurytown, and Boredomville. 453
Finding out where we are living is a most important discovery. Wherever our consciousness is, is where we are living.
452
Where is God is a most important question. If you think of God about there or somewhere else or nowhere, you have a
serious problem, because wherever god is, is where we are. If we are not living in Godland, we are living in an externalized
state of mind called Egoland 452
The entire human experience is a metaphor, a myth, symbolic, poetic, ritualistic, story-like, an analogy, hyperbole, imagery,
archetypal, oxymoronic, paradoxical, a puzzle, an interpretation, an allegory, a parable, a simile, and meaning-oriented.
Nothing in the universe is literal and linear except in the ego mind. 452
Whatever is apparently happening at the ego level is a metaphor when understood at the spiritual level, an event which
we created, which we attracted to ourselves, and which we need to learn to accept, appreciate, and love for our own benefit
and growth. 452
In Egoland, everything we do is an anxiety-remedy activity, whether we are playing perpetrator, victim, or rescuer. Perpetrator,
victim and rescuer modes of perception are self-imposed and self-limiting forms of drama. 450
Egoland is where we are living in exile, in captivity, in ignorance, in forgetfulness. It may glitter like Las Vegas
but it is an invisible prison of the mind. 449
So where is the Goose? Just climb the beanstalk of your consciousness and there it is 450
This is Paradise. We never left it. We just ate the fruit of the story of Good-Versus-Evil and have been living in a
nightmare, a bad trip ever since. With this fruit we dr
ugged ourselves into amnesia. 449
Now we come to the most critical question : can the ego be truthful? 447
This Good News has left its timeless imprint stamped into everyone, everything, everywhere. The Christ Imago is the hidden
factor in everyone's psyche. 442
Sin is the direct result of mistaken identity and its power abuses 440
The real sin is not grandiosity but self-belittlement and belittlement of God's creation. 433
The mission of Jesus teachings, life and ministry was the revelation of the divinity of man. 432
The only book that Jesus wrote was A Course in Miracles 428
The ego is co-dependency squared 428
You make yourself sick; you make yourself well. 427
Anxiety is the most persistent and universal of all human experiences. Cracking its code, deciphering its meaning, and
discovering its hidden healing message is indeed a challenging task and opportunity. 425

would experience anxiety and try to hide it or fix it.

the Infinite Good. 409
There is only one problem: the apparent absence of the field of the absolute and infinite consciousness, and the apparent
presence of limitations and victimization. There is only one solution: the awareness of the field of absolute good and its
accompanying perfection and wholeness. 409
All of my problems and solutions are invaluable signals that I am not aware at the moment of my Infinite Good. 407
The system that we are using is flawed, broken, dysfunctional, and deceptive, based upon profound ignorance. Our anxious
experiences are designed to wake us up to the fact that the system is flawed. Your suffering is to awaken you to the flaws
in the system. The purpose of psychotherapy is to help you discover the flawed story you live by, the story you are telling
yourself. 407
If you are so fortunate as to have your apple cart turned over by a crisis large or small, please get your foot in the
door and keep it there long enough to find out what this crisis means. And believe me, we don't know what it means. We minimize
the significance of a crisis and try to hurry through it with a quick fix. 399
Every work dispute, every divorce, every legal problem, every traumatic memory, and every war is supposedly due to
mis-communication. However, mis-communication between people is only a symptom of mis-communication with self. 398
Only when life gets very uncomfortable do we usually inquire and look into our mis-beliefs. Why should we rock our identity
boat? 397
We live in two worlds. One seems real but is fictional; the other seems fictional but is real. World #1 we are very
familiar with even though it is an ambivalent relationship; World # 2 we are almost a stranger to, even though it is our real
home. World # 1 seems visible and World # 2 seems invisible. We cling to World # 1, and generally avoid World # 2. World
# 1 is the world of trance, of hypnosis, of brain-washing and cultural conditioning. World # 2 is God's pristine creation.
The door to World # 2 rarely opens, unless it is by the hand of crisis, and it makes us uncomfortable. World # 1 we trust,
but are invited to learn to question; World # 2 we doubt, but are invited to learn to explore.
The door between these two worlds rarely opens without a crisis. We devise all sorts of strategies and medicines to avoid
or numb the pain involved in the opening of this #2 door.
We are heavily invested in our identity with the duality of World # 1. We resist the awareness of the oneness of World
# 2.
What is the wall that divides these two worlds? It is the wall of belief, opinion, judgment, illusion, trance, cultural
conditioning, and concepts. There are two doors actually located in this wall: the Door of Revelation and the Door of Crisis.
If you do not go through the Door of Revelation, you will go through the Door of Crisis. The position of Spiritual Psychotherapy
is that you have a choice of which door you will take, but you do not have a choice of leaving out or avoiding both. In other
words, we have limited free will. You are free to go through both doors, but not through neither. This limited freedom is
due to the Grace of God. 397
At any time you may ask yourself, Am I OnStage; or OffStage; ????
Onstage is the local mind, the opinionated conditioned story of good and evil; Offstage is the nonlocal mind, the way
of wisdom, the way of understanding, the Infinite Good awareness. Onstage is the victim-production mind; Offstage is Freedom-Awareness.
Onstage is the Adam mind; Offstage is the Christ mind. Automatically we are Onstage; only by choice do we switch to the Offstage
or symbolic awareness. We are habitually programmed for the local mind and have to choose the nonlocal mind. After a lot
of conscious practice, we can become spiritually minded; but it is still by choice. I would guess that 99.99% of our thoughts
are Onstage, habitual, programmed, localminded, and matrix-sourced. Noticing miracles, synchronicities, and spiritual purpose
is Offstage and conscious-choice sourced. 389
If I do not consciously choose to envision the Infinite Good, then I will be an automatic unconscious victim of the story-of-good-versus-evil
and all of its consequences. 388
Anxiety-transcendence takes you into your spiritual awareness, into the nonlocal mind, into your unlimited potential,
into the Infinite Good. The belief in abuse and victimization loses its power to create hurt, pain and self-defense. Peace
and contentment emerge spontaneously from within. External control psychology is no longer necessary. 387
Hurt and pain are the consequence of our beliefs, of the story we are telling ourselves, not of outside circumstances.
We are totally responsible for our interpretations of external events, and for the troubles, anxieties, power struggles, and
hurts resulting from those event interpretations. Our story about life is self-created. We are the victims of our own unconscious
story and for the painful consequences therefrom.
Is this good? Absolutely. If I am not responsible for my story and its consequences, then I am going to experience victimization
and all of the codependent power struggles resulting from it. 387
A couple in marriage counseling were each saying to themselves. My partner doesn't care, is abusive, and I am a victim.
They had to learn to change their self-talk to:
My partner does care, is anxious, and I am not a victim. 384
We are on a journey from error to truth, from fantasy to reality, from the story of good and evil to the infinite good.
This is a return journey. We first journeyed from truth to error, from the Very Good to the good-versus-evil story. Now
we are on the return journey home. 377
All anxiety is about otherness. All anxiety is about the beliefs and the religion of otherness. Awareness involves no
beliefs, no religion, no story of good and evil, no otherness. 376
Are you upset? Then you are not in reality. You are in a fantasy world of good and evil Are you lacking? Then you are
tuned into the illusion of good and evil. Are you lonely? Then you are into fantasyland. Are you feeling guilty or anxious?
Then you are into the illusion of your story. Are you seeking? Then you are into the fantasy of forgetfulness. Which fantasy?
The fantasy of otherness, the fantasy of the finite. There is no such finite, no such reality, no such otherness. Only the
Infinite Good is real. You are It. 375
God is the supreme non-ego. Until we find the true God, how can we find the True Self? Impossible. 492
We need to remember our spiritual father so that our human father can just be what he is. We need to remember our spiritual
mother so that we can let our human mother be human. 493
There are things we ought to remember and things we ought to forget, and we get them backwards. We remember the trivial
and forget the essential. We should remember who we are, and forget who we aren't. But we do the opposite in this upside-down
world. 494
There is much good to remember, but we are so preoccupied with the story of good-versus- bad, that we don't even see the
Infinite Good, which is the main thing we have forgotten. 494
When we know the truth we will be free from anxiety and trivia. Since we are 99% brain-washed by society, we need a daily
re-minder of what is essential and what is trivial. A Course in Miracles is a record of Jesus; memory of the truth for us
that he preserved for us for all time. 494
If we forget our unity, we remember our separateness; if we forget our abundance, we remember our deficits; if we forget
our infinity, we remember our limitations; if we remember our victimizations, we forget our freedom. It is wonderful that
someone remembered for us when we could not remember for ourselves. It is true with every brother and sister, that you need
them to remember when you forget, and they need you to remember when they forget. 494
Are you offended yet? Dr Joe's Gospel is designed to undermine, threaten, offend and destroy the entire ego system..
If this book does not bother you, either you didn't get it or I didn't do my job. This book is a frontal attack upon the Victim
Religion of the ego story. Dr. Joe's Gospel is a challenge to all mediocre religions, philosophies, and gospels of repression
and oppression. Dr. Joe's Gospel is the absolutely radical Good News aimed at the de-construction of the false belief systems
in sociology, psychology, medicine, science, philosophy and religion. 489
